Creating successful
products through innovative and
elegant design

Cramasie have been providing product design services over the past 13 years to a diverse range of clients from start-ups, SMEs to multinationals.

The company was founded by Colin in summer 2011, and with Jordi along with some exceptional members of the team through this journey, we’ve delivered projects including medical devices, golf technology, gaming controls, industrial equipment, and a very diverse range of start-up projects.

In January this year, Colin and Lewis Allison cofounded UNA Watch Ltd, a sustainable, modular and repairable running watch, see www.unawatch.com. We are also offering a consultancy service with UNA For Industry to develop wearables and related equipment using our modular platform, currently working with 2 clients.

With this change, to continue supporting product design work through Cramasie, we’ve assembled a group of associates, all having worked closely together in the past decade either at Cramasie or via client projects. This team has a wide range of skills and experience, from concept to commercial realisation, and all sharing the same values.

Successful stories worth telling

A portable battery pack from Creative Energy, giving access to electricity anywhere is needed.

As a design consultancy passionate about creating innovative solutions, we are thrilled to share the success story of a recent project we partnered on. Our collaboration with Creative Energie, led by the dedicated team of Joel Chaney and Benjie Marwick Johnstone, developed a portable battery pack that revolutionises access to electricity in underserved areas. We are delighted to see their vision come to life as these powerbanks are now in use in Uganda and Malawi.

From the initial stages of conceptualisation to prototyping and finally the production of a pilot batch, we have enjoyed supporting Creative Energie throughout this project. The goal was to create a versatile battery pack that could address various power needs and empower individuals in remote areas where electricity is scarce.

Recently, Joel from Creative Energie travelled to Malawi to oversee the implementation of the project. The impact has been nothing short of remarkable. The powerbanks have proven to be invaluable in powering essential devices in every day life, as well as giving access to entertainment that here we take for granted, such as projectors and speaker systems, allowing people to enjoy movie nights and engage in communal activities. Furthermore, they have also been successfully used to power sewing machines, empowering local artisans.

We love working on projects like this and believe that
sustainable and inclusive solutions have the power to shape a brighter future for all. We celebrate this milestone, and remain committed to driving positive change and expanding access to essential resources through innovative design and meaningful partnerships.
